The Coogee to Bondi Coastal Walk

3rd January 2007

The Winchesters spent their week in Manly but it would’ve been a shame if they didn’t get to see that cultural Aussie icon, Bondi Beach. So we made our way to Coogee Beach and walked the coastal path all the way back to Bondi. It’s a great walk which takes you past a few other beaches including Clovelly, Bronte and Tamarama.

The weather closed in on us mid-way through the walk though and we got drenched. We made it to Bondi after two pit-stops, the first being to seek refuge in the doorway of a block of flats. It was only right to go for a swim and a bodysurf when we got there, which we did. It was then to the Beach Road Hotel for a couple of schooners afterwards.

Again, the pictures tell the story.

Steve eats lobster. Stan goes on walk. It rains constantly in Australia.

    Who'd have thought it?

Yeah. It's amazing how life changing a holiday down here can be for some people!

Although I suspect that there isn't any lobster action in Bedmo and Stan doesn't walk any further than to the end of North Street and back again.

So it's not that life changing at all for some people.

But they did have fun though, which was great to see.

I had some absolutely banging fish and chips when I went to Bondi. I wasn't that gone on the beach itself, but the whole chili crab and chips I had there was just sensational!
