The New Camera and Skimboarding
6th January 2007
Instead of buying each other a few presents for Xmas, H and I bought a joint present for each other to use. Considering we spend so much time out and about, on the beach or in the water we decided to buy a new, tiny, digital camera, and waterproof housing. It's a fantastic bit of kit. Luckily Mike lives in Singapore so he kindly picked up the gear for us before he flew over. I reckon we must've saved $150-200. Result.
Here's a few pictures taken on Manly beach. I recently bought a skimboard (I have only used it a couple of times. I bought it to add to my arsenal of beach equipment but as far as I'm concerned it has got 'cruciate ligament damage' written all over it – I've already taken a layer of skin off my back). Will is rather good at it, as you can see here and here. Unfortunately I wasn't filming when Kirby stacked it (that would have got me 250 quid on 'You've Been Framed' for sure) but I did take some stills (and check out Will's expression in each photo).

This looks awesome fun, Jonny. Lots of excercise chasing after the board and, best of all, no big waves to contend with. Just my cup of tea, though I don't fancy the injuries. Mike's ma

Very nice. It seems strange to see Will on Manly Beach in your festive round-up, as just a week earlier he was over here with us lot wrapped up warm (and still shivering). Brings the whole contrast thing home a bit more!
