Sydney Festival ("I Vomited In My Coolbag")
I didn't think we’d get the January blues over here. Afterall, it's the summer. I thought that was only saved for the cold, dull, grey, wet skies of Blighty. But after a such a great holiday with everyone, H and I weren't feeling the best for a few days. It was back to work.....
But, we are lucky enough to have made some great friends here. Sydney is a beautiful city, it's the summer, it's hot, and January is the month long Sydney Festival season. The city comes alive with a whole host of free events, including the free concerts in The Domain - the home of Field Day.
So, at least we had a lot to look forward to. H and I went to two free concerts in January with our mates, both of which involved lots of picnic food and wine;
Jazz In The Domain (13th January 2007)
A very relaxing evening, but the Jazz was Brazilian and didn’t sound like Jazz, nor anything we listened too or saw in Brazil last year.
This kicked Jazz's arse into touch, but it was always going to. Highlights included Barber's Adagio For Strings and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. Henry also turned up which was nice as he hadn't been out for a while. Katie got wrecked and threw up in her coolbag on the ferry on the way home, hence the phrase "I vomited in my coolbag". Charming.

Haha lovely. Mind you, free Jazz and Classical in a field in January can't be bad.

Em - I remember that. I made everyone throw a whitey! That carrier bag was Ali's weekend bag as well. Sorry Ali!
Andy - yep, Kirby is wearing old faithful. It's over 6 years old and has been everywhere with me - festivals, gigs, holidays, nights out, house parties, camping trips, football matches etc etc. It's definitely been great value for money and has got lots of character (ie. holes and dodgy stains which all tell their own story). I like 'legendary' description as well. I reckon Kirby was pretty priviledged to wear it, although I'm sure he will disagree.
Damo - I think it's pate! The parade is on Saturday. I'll take lots of pictures and blog as soon as I can. I'll be thinking about you (H is going away to Byron Bay on a girls weekend so it's just me and lots of men!!).
