Book Forty One
The main reason I wanted to read Jaws was to see how Peter Benchley built the suspense that gripped us all in the movie.
I don’t think he did, and to be honest, I found it rather boring. And the finale is both rushed and ridiculous. I wonder why he didn't write Jaws 2.....

that book, and indeed the film, would have been much shorter if it was set in Australia rather than the US..... one dark night, a hippie type goes for a swim naked, not knowing of the danger lurking beneath her.
IT ATTACKS!
She pokes it in the eye and it swims off with its tail between its legs.
