Book Nine

It feels like it's been ages since I last finished a book and was abe to write about it but it's been less than a month so I'm not doing too badly.

This is Book Nine of my read-a-thon. I finished it earlier this week.

H had bought it and read it before I had a go at it, and we both really enjoyed it. I'm not really one for writing book reviews so I'm not going to bother (besides, the surfs up dude!). If someone had told me a couple of years ago to read this book I would have told them to get knotted, or something similar. However, I am a changed man these days and I'm enjoying my new lease of life (and the daily commute into work on the fery which allows me a good hour or so of reading time every day).

Anyway, Book Nine = (all time) Classic = Well Done Me!

So the extent of your summary for book nine is that you really enjoyed it. Did it help that you could ask H what was going on?

Is this 'read-a-thon' of yours ever going to end?

I really enjoyed that book too!
(that's the extent of my book-reviewing skills).

Just thought I'd pop by for a nosey - not at the photos this time 'cos I'm finally here seeing the real thing (and loving this not too hot, sunny weather!).

Well we did have a bit of a chat about it once I'd finished it. I probably should've written more about what I thought of the book but I didn't really know what to say. I could've gone into the whole racism thing but everyone knows what was going on at that time of the century, and still is these days. It was a cracking story though, and at least I now know where that terrible band "The Boo Radleys" got their name from.

As for the read-a-thon, I am loving Book Ten more than any other book I have read, so I can't see it ending for a while!

Never read book 9, but it's on my list. Can't wait to see what book 10 is. It's a nice little feature, this. Keeps us reading, even if descriptions of your surfing accidents don't.

    Which they do.

Cheers Jonny - it's all good so far.

If you and H happen to be about at the weekend for a beer - give me a shout (email address on my profile thingy)! There's a jazz festival or something in Manly isn't there?

fucksake. the boo radley's were not shit! there's a whole lot more to them than "Wake Up Boo!" you know.

it's an ace book though. it's a classic for a reason that one. The Henry Fonda film version is brilliant too.

Keep the readathon updates coming. I think they're great.

oh, and I can also vouch for the fact that Sarah isn't a random psycho, if that helps at all.

    She's not at all random.

    boom boom.

Thanks Swiss - who needs enemies, eh?

Ok, I admit it, my Boo Radleys knowledge is limited to "Wake Up Boo!" which was absolute garbage. Chris Evans kept playing it on his Radio show at the time, over and over and over.

Sarah - unfortuately H and I are gonna be in Bondi all weekend. There's a huge dance festival on called Parklife and we are going to that. But yeah, there is a jazz festival happening in Manlyville. They've already put the stages up. I'll drop you an email to see if we can meet up another time.

Mike and ST - thanks for the kind words regarding this feature on my blog. Book 10 is a cracker and I'm reading it at record pace. I think I've nailed more than 400 pages in a week or so.
