Out And About-o

Mike has been here for just over a week and he has been making great progress with his knee.

When he arrived at the airport H and I had visions of him being driven out of the Arrivals hall on the back of one of those golf cart / buggy type things with a flashing orange light which are usually used by geriatrics who miraculously jump off the back of them as soon as they get driven to the front of the Boarding Gate.

Instead, he hobbled out on his crutch-o. It seemed like this was just for show though (he'd tried to get an upgrade without any luck) as no sooner had we left the confines of the Arrivals hall, then he went into Roger 'Verbal' Kint mode and began walking without it, for a short distance anyway.

I'd already mentioned
here that he had ditched his crutch-o in favour of a collabsable walking stick-o on his first day about town. Well by day three his walk-o was a distant memory-o.

We've been out a about a fair bit over the last week or so-o.

We've bee
n out for Thai-o.

Booze-o.

And Coke-o.

We've been on the Ferry-o (a number of times!).

And we went to Darling Harbour-o.

As well as Bondi-o.

We've been to the Orbit Bar-o to have a few drinks and look at the view-o.

And on the train-o (sorry it's a bit blurred-o).

And the escalator-o.

We've also been to Kings Cross-o.

As well as the Bungabar-o in Bondi-o for Will-o's birthday drinks.

And to the Darbar for his curry-o in Glebe-o.

We've also been to the Opera Bar-o.

And the Botanical Gardens-o. The weather wasn't great-o but the views were-o.

If you're wondering why I have attempted to sound like an Aussie in this blog it's because ever since Mike's arrival we have been speaking to each other in the most ridiculous Australian accents. It's been so bad that H has told other people that it's like living with Steve Irwin and Joe Mangel, or Alf Stewart and Crocodile Dundee. He has written about it here in his first Sydney blog.

Poor H!

    Quality photos.

In the picture of Mike and H with their fingers out, what are they debating the size of?

Is it just me or is Mike looking more and more bored with the fingers pose as the photos go down? H seemed particularly enthusiastic about it as well. I must admit though, I had the same thought as Rich at first. That photo should have been a caption competition...

A caption competition eh? Now there's an idea.

It will all become clear at the AFL on Saturday though.

He's not so much looking bored, more focused on the task at hand. He's a real pro. In fact it was his idea to assume the pose for each picture, honest. I obviously actively encourage it.

Remember the cheesy grins in Prague?

I'm not getting more and more bored with the pose. The ones I looked most bored in are the actually the ones I'm coldest in.

And, of course, we're debating the size of a fish I once caught. What else could it possibly be?

    Oh and another thing:

"If you're wondering why I have attempted to sound like an Aussie..."

How is putting "-o" on the end of every other word sounding like an Aussie, exactly?

    I think it's Jonny's Italian-Australian dialect or something.

    Italian?

Where did that come from? The Armani minus the i I suppose.

My Nan used to say I was related to Charles Dickens. Personally, I think I am part Turkish.

    Thanks for clearing that up...
