Book Seventeen
I thought I'd interrupt the catching up to let you all know that I finished Book Seventeen today. Mike was reading it when he arrived, he said it was a good'un, I waited for him to finish it, and then gave it to me.
I didn't like it, and I couldn't wait to finish it. I'm obviously missing the point here but I thought it was pretty boring and I have no idea what it has to do with catching rye! I think it is one of those books that is best read as quickly as possible. I did very little reading over the holiday period and finished off the last half of the book in the last week or so. Maybe that was the problem.

That's funny, I've never read it but I've been highly recommended it by at least two different people. In fact, it's Hugh's favourite book.
I've been meaning to get hold of it - maybe I won't bother!

No. Don't!
But you liked 'The Outsider' so you will probably enjoy this book.

There's a lesson in this: never listen to an English teacher's idea of a good book. Don't you remember school? Buffoons.
I still maintain it's a work of unbridled genius that explores the inner workings of a boy on the edge of sanity.
Hope you didn't pay any attention to that.
