Royal Randwick Races - Villiers Stakes Day
23rd December 2006
It was my first ever time at such an event and it was a cracking day out. Ok, most of us lost money but it was great fun. It was also the perfect opportunity for Mark and Kim, and Mike and Ella to meet some of our fellow Sydneysiders, and some of their friends who had also come over to visit.
The boys dressed down. T-shirts, boardies and thongs were the order of the day, at least with most of us.
It seems like it was only yesterday that 16 of us spent the first day of our two week holiday at the races.

Normally people go to a lot of effort when going to the races.

There were 8 races throughout the day, and on the last race 15 of us put $20 each into a pot and placed it on one of the favourites. With $300 riding on the nag, everyone was pretty excited.
Needless to say, it didn't win. It's a mugs game!

Thanks Andy, it's a bit daunting to be honest.
